One Bethesda Game is Set to Hit PlayStation Day One, Regardless of What Xbox Say
Microsoft acquired Bethesda for 7,500 billion dollars back in 2020. PlayStation players were not sure about the next games from the company launching on PS5. For the moment, Bethesda has made only two exclusive games for Xbox consoles.
Starfield had an average reception, and Redfall was a horrible failure. Hi-Fi Rush is also from Bethesda, but it was confirmed that the game will launch on PS5 soon. Another very anticipated game was confirmed to launch on PS5 on day one. The Elder Scrolls 6 was mentioned in the Xbox Era podcast.
Bethesda will go back to PlayStation, at least for a couple of games, and Xbox is still the main star
Microsoft is on a quest to make more and better exclusive games for the Xbox. The trillion-dollar company has already acquired Zenimax/Bethesda, and Activision/Blizzard. Unfortunately, at the moment, these studios have not made any games that are a complete success for Xbox. Starfield was very well received, but it was not for everyone. Redfall was a complete failure, and Bethesda is also working on a new Indiana Jones game that will launch this year. But a very important title has not been released yet, and it has been confirmed that it will also launch on PS5.
The Elder Scrolls 6 will be available on PS5 on day one. The game was announced back in 2018, and after six years, Bethesda has not shown any other trailer or sign of the state of the game. According to Tom Warren from The Verge in the Xbox Era podcast, The Elder Scrolls 6 will come out day one on PS5. From a business point of view, this makes a lot of sense since the announcement of the game was before the acquisition, and the sales will be very well received. There is a possibility that this will not happen, but Tome Warren is a very reliable source.
Bethesda and Xbox are testing some new strategies
After a busy and very speculative couple of weeks, Xbox confirmed that four exclusive games will launch on other platforms. But all these titles are not very massive, and Phil Spencer said there will only be four games.
Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves will be coming to the PS5, while Grounded and Pentiment will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. The head of Xbox also added that some very popular Activision/Blizzard games will soon be on Xbox Game Pass.
Diablo 4 will be released in March on Xbox Game Pass. Xbox has not confirmed more games that will also launch on the PS5, so this information from Tom Warren is very complicated to believe.
