Shadow of the Erdtree Footage to Be Released Today
It looks like fans of Elden Ring can finally take a sigh of relief, as FromSoftware has announced the date for the Shadow of the Erdtree trailer launch. And this date is not very far away either; fans would be able to stream this trailer in less than a day. It is no doubt an exciting moment for the fans, who had been anticipating this moment from the very second this DLC was announced.
There’s much riding on this trailer; for one, Elden Ring fans would finally know how FromSoftware plans to take forward the story. They would also get a glimpse at the game’s world as well as anything else that FromSoftware has chosen to bring to its fans.
Fans will get their first look at Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree very soon
From the moment it was announced in 2023 to now, this game has piqued the interest of FromSoftware fans. There have been numerous fan theories and leaks that suggest one other thing. Even the Elden Ring IP changed hands from Bandai Namco to FromSoftware.
And now that this day has arrived, FromSoftware once again took to X/Twitter to announce the trailer launch, just the way they did for the DLC’s announcement. The tweet from the developer said, “The trailer for “ELDEN RING SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE” will be released today, February 21st (Wednesday) at 24:00. Please take a look if you like.” This tweet was originally in Japanese; this is the translated version of it.
Alongside this message, FromSoftware even posted their YouTube video link, which takes fans to a video with a timer. This timer ends on February 21 at 10 a.m. EST. This is surprising given the fact that popular leaker and insider Shinobi also hinted at some sort of Elden Ring news coming very soon.
It looks like this is exactly the thing that was discussed on FandomWire before. FromSoftware was waiting to be handed over the ownership of the Elden Ring IP to announce this DLC; after all, it made very little sense for them to do so while still being under Namco.
The other thing is that Elden Ring’s second anniversary is also coming very soon. The game was launched on February 25, 2022. This means FromSoftware is pulling the same trick Rockstar Games did with GTA 6, announcing the trailer for the new game close to the anniversary of their franchise.
No matter how they planned it. What matters is the fact that this game will soon be seen by its fans. They would soon know if they would see Miquella in it or not. Or if this game would feature a new timeline or another time period.
One more thing that has been sprouting from the internet rumor mill is that FromSoftware will be announcing the launch date alongside the trailer. This can’t be any further either, as FromSoftware usually only announces its games once they are completely done.
There are other surprises, too!
Another leak from none other than billbil_kun has suggested that FromSoftware would not just reveal the trailer for the DLC; they would also announce a bunch of other things. They also said that fans would also see the prices for those other things. Maybe these are those controllers that have been showing up all over the internet lately.
Besides this, fans are also hoping for the announcement of Elden Ring 2. Some suggest that it would be sensible for FromSoftware to at least announce the fact that a sequel is finally in development. There are a lot of speculations for a 3-minute video. Let’s see what comes true and what does not.
