One of the two new franchises to have been included in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have performed pretty well in their 2 years of existence. The team is led by KL Rahul and have qualified to the playoffs in both the editions.

After qualifying for the playoffs in IPL 2022, LSG had a good performance in IPL 2023. The franchise based out of Lucknow finished in the 3rd position at the end of the league stage and eventually lost to Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Eliminator.
