Mumbai will become the hub of the gem and jewelry industry thanks to significant infrastructure investments made by the government, which were announced on Thursday by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal.
The minister went on to say that the government was prepared to look into providing export insurance through the Export Credit Guarantee Corporation for specific exports of jewelry and gems.
He assured backing for the Indian Gems and Jewellery Park on a 21-acre site in Mahape, Navi Mumbai.Goyal also noted the readiness of the Mega Common Facilitation Center in Seepz, which is equipped with world-class machinery.
