Saudi Arabia Esports World Cup 2024 Will Include League Of Legends
It is said that a League of Legends competition will be held in the Esports World Cup 2024, which is supported by Saudi Arabia.
Esports writer Jacob Wolf, who obtained access to an internal communication from League of Legends publisher Riot Games, verified this.
The Esports World Cup was declared by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in October of 2023. This magnificent occasion will take place in Riyadh every year beginning in the summer of 2024.
Starting this year, the Gamers8 annual tournament will become the Esports World Cup.
Anticipated to be the biggest worldwide esports competition of its type, the Esports World Cup will provide a platform to uplift the gaming and esports industry and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s standing as a center for global esports.
It will have the biggest prize pools for victors in esports history in addition to a number of well-known games from a variety of genres.
League of Legends to Feature in Esports World Cup 2024
Although it was anticipated to grow into one of the largest esports competitions of the year, the industry was shocked to learn that Riot Games, whose popular game League of Legends, would be attending.
Journalist Jacob Wolf said that Riot Games is now finalizing the specifics of League of Legends’ participation in the Esports World Cup 2024.
The Jacob Wolf Report obtained an internal email that Riot Games allegedly sent during the Christmas break that detailed this development.
The report also stated that Riot Games will permit two teams to compete from each of the following leagues: League Championship Series (LCS), League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK), League of Legends Pro League (LPL), and League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC).
The only information available about the event’s format is that several companies will enter various esports teams into various competitions in an attempt to win the first Esports World Cup.
According to the email, Riot Games said that two teams from each of the LCS, LEC, LPL, and LCK will compete in the tournament, but Riot would not be selecting those teams.
