Jill Scott embarked on a tour in the first half of 2020 to mark the 20th anniversary of her album Who Is Jill Scott? : Words and Sounds, Vol. 1. But like so many previous trips, it was cut short because of the epidemic. Scott just disclosed the updated dates for the journey. The 23rd-anniversary tour for her debut studio album from 2000 starts on February 28 in Augusta, Georgia, and stops in Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Nashville, Memphis, Atlanta, and other cities before wrapping up in June. Below is a timetable for Scott in its entirety.
Throughout the tour, Scott will perform the album from beginning to end. Scott said, “My band and I were so happy three years ago, but that nasty COVID shut us down,” in a news release. We’re outside now! Call me. Come feel again. Relive your favorite moments. Y’all ready to settle down and get with this?!? “There’s a lot of love here.”

The 20-date Live Nation Urban-powered tour gets underway in Augusta, Georgia, on February 28, 2023.
Scott will perform in a number of American cities after that, including Jacksonville, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Memphis, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C.
Scott will stay two nights each in Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.
The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California, will host the tour’s finale on June 22, 2023. Last month, Scott announced her Hollywood Bowl performance.

Fans may anticipate the Grammy-winning musician performing her cherished debut in its entirety.
“I’m going to stick to the setlist from the record. I’ll perform each song in the album’s sequence. They should bring their CD covers to my audience. Some people might be able to recite the list off-hand,” Scott told Billboard in 2019.

Who is Jill Scott? Hidden Beach Records released the first volume of Words and Sounds on July 18, 2000.
The album peaked at No. 2 and No. 17, respectively, on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Billboard 200 charts.

The well-known songs “The Way,” “A Long Walk,” and “Gettin’ In the Way” are by Jill Scott.
“A Long Walk” spent seven weeks at the top of the Adult R&B Airplay chart on Billboard before peaking at No. 1.
The Way, “Gettin’ in the Way,” and “He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat)” were the top three songs on the same chart.
Of the album’s singles, two appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart: “A Long Walk” (peaked at No. 43) and “The Way” (peaked at No. 60).
At the 43rd Grammy Awards, Scott earned three nominations: Best New Artist, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance (“Gettin’ In the Way”), and Best R&B Album (Who Is Jill Scott? Words And Sounds Vol. 1).
She additionally picked up a nod at the 44th Grammy Awards for “A Long Walk” and the 45th Grammy Awards for “He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat) (Movements I, II, III).” Both nominations were for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.
The live rendition of “He Loves Me” appeared on Scott’s 2001 live album, Experience: Jill Scott 826+.
Seven years have passed since Scott’s last album, Woman, was released via her label Blues Babe Records in collaboration with Atlantic Records.

The album sold 62,000 equivalent copies in its first week, which sent it to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 list.
Following Beyoncé’s 2013 self-titled album, Scott was the first female R&B artist to reach the top of the Billboard 200 in a year and a half.
Woman included the No. 3 Adult R&B Airplay singles “Can’t-Wait,” “Fool’s Gold,” and “Back Together” (No. 10). SiR contributed to the compositions of the first two tracks.
Even though this is the longest period without a Jill Scott album, she has remained active through collaborations.
While this is the longest we’ve had to wait for a Jill Scott album, she has kept busy with collaborations.
Since then, Scott has collaborated with artists such as Daley (“Until The Pain Is Gone“), SiR (“Still Blue“), Alicia Keys (“Jill Scott“), PJ Morton (“Still Believe“), and Theo Croker (“To Be We“), among others.
And if she wasn’t in a recording booth – including a podcast – she was on a TV or movie set. Some of her recent roles include Lady Eve in Black Lightning, Angela Stewart in Highway to Heaven, and Hazel Rachelle in First Wives Club.
