Arnold Schwarzenegger Praises Titanic as James Cameron’s Perfect Film

James Cameron’s 1997 romantic movie Titanic is not only considered one of the best movies of its time but also holds a significant place in cinematic history. Being the first film to gross over $1 billion at the box office, the movie broke several records and gained public and critical acclaim for its story and cast’s performance.

These are some of the elements that led Cameron’s long-time friend and collaborator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to call it one of his favorite films. Praising the Oscar-winning filmmaker’s work and story development in Titanic, the actor said, as per FarOut Magazine,

“Titanic is just — the storytelling, and the size of it, the visual effects…the first thing was just brilliantly — every character was brilliantly fleshed out. Which is typical Cameron. He’s just so good at that. And then, he adds the action.”

The True Lies star further emphasized how Cameron created a compelling story around a well-known impending disaster and added the elements of suspense, diverse characters, their relationships, and emotional connections, and complemented it all with a powerful musical score. “Everything was a straight 10,” he said, stating that everything from the emotional roller coaster to the music of the film is exceptional.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Called James Cameron a ‘Genius’

During a recent appearance on Pat McAfee’s Show, Arnold Schwarzenegger shared his experience working with James Cameron. Calling the filmmaker a “genius,” he shared that he has never met someone so “multi-talented,” who can do almost everything from set decoration to writing and making blockbuster movies.

“He knows how to decorate the set, how to light the set, he knows everything about the cameras, he knows everything about everything. I mean, it’s like, technically, he’s so superior—He can do comedy, he can do action. He can do anything. It’s just amazing how smart the guy is.”

As he further praised the filmmaker and called him a “visionary,” Schwarzenegger expressed his wish to “do many more movies with” Cameron. The duo has collaborated on movies like The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and the action comedy True Lies.

Cameron also produced the sixth installment in the sci-fi action franchise, Terminator: Dark Fate. The Titanic director has shared that there have been discussions about a reboot. However, Schwarzenegger does not seem too eager to return to the franchise, as he has shared that he is done playing the cybernetic android.
