Christopher Reeve’s Super/Man Documentary Eyed by WB After Blatantly Disrespecting His Legacy in The Flash
There is almost no one in the world who doesn’t know Superman – one of the most iconic characters in the history of not just comic books, but media in general. Superman began as one of several anthology features in the National Periodical Publications’ comic book Action Comics #1 in June 1938 and in no time, became an iconic character. Interestingly enough, Christopher Reeve’s documentary about Superman is currently being eyed by Warner Bros.
Being a comic book character, it comes as no surprise there are almost innumerable iterations of everyone’s favorite Kryptonite, with mixed reception over the past several decades. Even then, Christopher Reeve’s is seen as one of the best of all time.

Christopher Reeve’s Family Didn’t Give Permission For His Cameo in The Flash
One of the highly anticipated documentaries premiering at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival is Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story. The film explores the rise of Christopher Reeve to a Hollywood icon and the life-altering horse-riding accident in 1995 that left him paralyzed. Reeve’s children Will, Matthew, and Alexandra, took part in a discussion at the Variety Studio, sharing insights into their father’s legacy.
During the conversation, Reeve’s children were asked about their thoughts on their father’s appearance in The Flash from the previous year. The studio utilized CGI to recreate his likeness for a cameo where his Superman version is seen by Ezra Miller’s Flash in the Multiverse. The Reeve siblings mentioned they hadn’t watched The Flash and were not involved in that particular cameo. Therefore, they did not give permission to use their father’s image at all.

Warner Bros. Eyeing Christopher Reeve’s Documentary After Insulting His Legacy
According to a report by Deadline, Warner Bros. Discovery is positioned as the leading contender to acquire the documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story in a deal estimated to be worth $15 million.

There were quite a few responses to the announcement, and it is not hard to see why. The development is interesting simply because of the fact that Warner Bros. previously insulted Christopher Reeves with The Flash.
