The Marvel Cinematic Universe is gearing up for one of its most anticipated additions, Deadpool 3, in a year when the Merc with a Mouth is flying the flag for the franchise as the only MCU movie of 2024. Fans are already buzzing with excitement over Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine gearing up to take a leap into the Marvel multiverse on the road-trip of a lifetime. While everyone awaits the first trailer (expected to arrive during this year’s Super Bowl), it has fallen to the fan community to plug the gap with a multiverse-spanning poster that brings the Fox and MCU franchises together and also supplies a possible title for the movie.

Instagram artist BenSolo_Cup has unveiled a new Deadpool 3 poster that pays homage to one of Wade Wilson’s most iconic Marvel comic arcs. Titled “Deadpool and Wolverine Kill the Fox Universe,” the poster imaginatively brings together 15 X-Men characters from the original movies and the MCU’s Time Variance Agency. The artwork is a play on the 2011 Deadpool story, “Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe” and taps into the long-held fan theory that the movie will see the destruction of the old Fox Universe, which could force the X-Men into the MCU’s timeline. Check out the poster below in all its glory.

While the specifics of Deadpool 3‘s plot remain shrouded in mystery, numerous hints and set photos suggest a storyline that parallels “Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe,” with several adjustments to align it with the legacy of the franchise. Images of a destroyed 20th Century Fox logo, the potential return of characters from the Fox era, and director Shawn Levy’s own comments about the movie having a big connection with the old franchise, all lead to a belief that the movie will be beyond anything the MCU has done so far and a real multiverse adventure.

As the only Marvel Studios film slated for release in 2024, Deadpool 3 stands out as a significant event, and one that is potentially going to be the only non-Spider-man movie to break the $1 billion for Marvel Studios since Avengers: Endgame. With the rumored appearance of many characters from all across the Marvel multiverse in the offing, we will get a first idea of what can be expected from Deadpool 3 very soon when the first trailer drops at this year’s Super Bowl. At the same time, if previous years are anything to go by, we will also get the first detailed synopsis and poster for the film, and then the excitement can really begin.

The internet is already filling up with supposed descriptions of what we can expect to see in that first teaser. While some of these may be true, it is also possible that Marvel Studios will be reworking the trailer to ensure it delivers at least one or two surprises that have not been revealed on social media. One thing for certain is that the teaser will deliver the first footage of Ryan Reynolds back in the guise of Wade Wilson and Hugh Jackman suiting up for one more outing as Wolverine.
