Iron Man Discovers Easy Way to Destroy Wolverine’s Healing Factor

Hugh Jackman is undeniably one of the most popular actors in Hollywood, gaining widespread recognition for his iconic portrayal of Wolverine in the X-Men movies. His character is essentially indestructible in the comics but it appears Iron Man has one simple way to eliminate Wolverine’s healing factor.

Jackman portrayed Wolverine in 2017’s Logan as well. Many people were simply in love with what Hugh Jackman was able to portray as a very old version of Wolverine. In fact, many ended up comparing Hugh Jackman’s portrayal to the hit Sony game The Last of Us.

In the Marvel Universe, Iron Man and Wolverine stand as two formidable heroes with extensive track records of saving the world and their respective teams. While Tony Stark’s intellect often outsmarts his enemies and Logan’s fighting prowess is unparalleled, an interesting scenario always happens when they face off. In Iron Man (Vol. 4) #12’s Execute Program story, Tony Stark’s Argonaut suits, designed as a self-contained peacekeeping force, become a global threat when hijacked.

One of these suits, the Subterranean Argonaut (or Digger, Model 32), crafted from Antarctic Vibranium, serves as a perfect anti-Wolverine armor. This Vibranium material efficiently counters Wolverine’s Adamantium-laced body, destabilizing the formidable metal. Although not initially designed to combat Wolverine, Iron Man’s Antarctic Vibranium Argonaut suit becomes a lethal countermeasure in their potential confrontation.

In a demonstration of Antarctic Vibranium’s effectiveness, Tony Stark and fellow heroes attempted to halt his rogue sets of armor. Among these, the Battle Argonaut suit, equipped with adamantium, wreaks havoc.

Tony employs the Antarctic Vibranium Digger, and the results are immediate—the Battle Argonaut suit is disintegrated merely by proximity to the Digger. Since the suit contains only an adamantium coating, significantly less than Wolverine’s entire body, it raises the prospect of using the material against Logan. The destabilizing vibrations of Antarctic Vibranium could potentially surpass what Wolverine’s healing factor can handle.

Antarctic Vibranium operates by inducing vibrations strong enough to destabilize various metals, including the formidable adamantium. Depending on the metal, this instability may reach a point where it transforms into a liquid. Given Tony Stark’s previous collaboration with the material for Misty Knight’s Antarctic Vibranium arm, he possesses a comprehensive understanding of its effects.

While the Argonaut armor suits were designed as a peacekeeping force, the potential impact on someone like Wolverine makes it challenging to envision a more formidable opponent for the Subterranean suit. We wonder if Hugh Jackman will ever face such a foe someday in the movies.
