Kristen Stewart is Furious After Questioned About Her Own Sexuality Despite Dating Robert Pattinson

Kristen Stewart has always been subjected to very harsh criticism. This is something many have complained about when growing up or being in the media spotlight for extended periods. It seems as if the public thought that they were entitled to both the actor’s professional, and personal life. Her private life was often treated as public property, shared regularly with the entire world. It is only natural that this sort of perspective left the actress in considerable distress.

When it came time for her to come out and be honest about her sexuality, the media did not relent at all. There were endless, irrelevant questions thrown at the actress at any opportunity they got. This was in addition to the constant talk of her dating history with actors like Robert Pattinson and Rupert Sanders. The actress has recently given an interview where she went into great detail about how all of this took a toll on her younger self.

Kristen Stewart Hated the Questions and the Denial that Followed Her Coming Out

The actress touched on the latter of these topics, and how the media decided to handle this matter. She explained that once she was ready to come out, she had no intentions of hiding her sexuality, and decided to be as open about her relationships as possible.

“It wasn’t even like I was hiding,” she says. “I was so openly out with my girlfriend for years at that point. I’m like, ‘I’m a pretty knowable person.’”

Despite being very publically involved with women, the media seemed to be beating around the bush and ignoring what was right in front of them. They would report these sightings as Stewart hanging out with her ‘female friends’, rather than her girlfriends. The actress mentioned that she was very irritated by this, adding that she was not being secretive about it in any way whatsoever, and was an open book.

Kristen Stewart Hated The Media’s Intrusiveness

Kristen Stewart played the role of Princess Diana in Specter, one of her most critically acclaimed projects to this date. Much like the late royal, the actress has been subjected to the peering eyes of the media long before she was ready for them. This led to a lasting impression that followed her into adulthood, even when she came out as queer.

An odd practice of the public is to be overly interested in the romantic and intimate lives of child stars after they have grown up, regardless of how old they were when they entered the spotlight.

The actress revealed,

“For so long, I was like, ‘Why are you trying to skewer me? Why are you trying to ruin my life? I’m a kid, and I don’t really know myself well enough yet,’” she says. “The idea of people going, ‘I knew that you were a little queer kid forever.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, yeah? Well, you should honestly have seen me f*ck my first boyfriend.’”

The actress stated during her interview that this was an extremely difficult thing for her to deal with when she came out. Many were trying to predict something about her that wasn’t even true at the time, or worse, she took years to figure it out for herself. She added that they had no window into her life and therefore had no right to give their insight about things they could not have known about.
