Motorola teases possible launch of Edge 50 Pro on April 3 in India

Recently, Motorola announced an April 3 event in India. The company didn’t share the specifics of what the event will cover, but recent leaks now suggest that it could be for the Edge 50 Fusion.

The company started sending invites to media outlets in the country, advising everyone to “save the date.” It was initially assumed that the event could be for the AI-powered Edge 50 Pro model, AKA X50 Ultra, which has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor (or MediaTek Dimensity 9300). However, this does not seem to be the case, as per Evan Blass, a reliable leaker.

The speculations probably started with the phrase “fusion of art and intelligence” in the invite. Nonetheless, one would doubt this possibility as the 2022 Motorola Edge 30 Fusion didn’t get a successor. Yet, the tipster stressed that the model is already prepared, sharing the significant details of the device in a recent post.

According to Blass, Edge 50 Fusion, which has been nicknamed “Cusco” internally, would be armed with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip alongside a decent 5000mAh battery. While the RAM size of the device was not divulged, Blass claimed that it would have 256 storage.

In terms of its display, the Edge 50 Fusion is reportedly getting a 6.7-inch POLED screen accompanied by Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The Edge 50 Fusion is also claimed to be an IP68-certified device with a rear 50MP main camera and a 32MP selfie camera. Ultimately, the post reveals that the smartphone will be available in Ballad Blue, Peacock Pink, and Tidal Teal colorways.

While the “fusion” teaser in the invite could indeed be a huge indication of an Edge 50 Fusion launch, things should still be taken with a pinch of salt at the moment. Nonetheless, with April 3 approaching fast, these should be clarified in the coming weeks, with more details about the matter expected to surface online as the date nears.
