Skyrim Fan Channels his Inner Arnie Fanboy and Creates One of his Most Iconic Characters in Game, and it’s not from Predator

Predator is a fan-favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger movie and the inspiration for many other characters we see in gaming. When you bring in a game like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim with a robust character creator, you’ve given gamers free rein to create their beloved heroes and villains in the game.

One Arnie fan has done just that, but not with Dutch from Predator. They decided to be a bit more true to the setting of Skyrim and opted for a character that’s a bit more primal: Conan the Barbarian. That’s right, the famous Cimmerian warrior turned king is now slicing and dicing his way through the lands of Skyrim

Ditching Dutch from Predator, the fan recreated Conan by greatly tweaking the character creator settings

Reddit user severinuskrios loaded the PS3 version of the game to remake Conan the Barbarian and shared the results of her efforts on r/Skyrim. The OP chose Nord as the character’s starting race to stay as true to Conan as possible. The post also shows Skyrim’s Conan dressed in what looks like a faithful rendition of what he wore in the movie.

Upon his head sits a Copper and Onyx Circlet, acting as a substitute for the studded leather crown from the movie. He is also sporting some minimal Hide Armor and Hide Bracers, which give very little protection against attacks in game, but are accurate to Conan’s character. The Hide Armor also comes with a loincloth. The picture from OP does not show his lower half, but we can guess he was given the Hide Boots as well to complete the look.

On being prompted by the comments asking how the look was recreated, OP shared the settings he used in the character creator. While OP was working with the PS3 version of the game, the values should create more or less the same look when taking Nord as the starting character. If you too want to take control of Conan, here are the settings you need.

Choosing Nord is not just accurate for the character’s looks, but also backstory. Nords are fiercely protective of their families and pride themselves on braving harsh weather conditions. Getting a hold of a great ax, sword, or dagger should not be too difficult to complete the look of Conan the Barbarian.

Skyrim’s character creator offers players a ton of flexibility

As with any open-world RPG, Skyrim offers players a massive sandbox to enjoy as they please. Even though the game launched back in 2011, gamers are still messing around with the game and pushing its limits. To this day, mods are being developed that introduce both major and minor changes.

With all the new mods that affect character creator settings and graphical details, one could create an even more accurate Conan the Barbarian character. OP running the PS3 version of the game was limited in their ability to truly fine-tune the look, and new armor sets and weapons can make the playthrough as the Cimmerian warrior king even more interesting.
