Xbox Game Pass Still Refuses to Give Activision Fans What They Really Want With Wave 2 Announcement

There’s no doubt that the Xbox Game Pass subscription is one of the greatest aspects of Microsoft’s console, as it’s consistently coming up with fresh titles to keep its subscribers happy. It’s a near-perfect mixture of quality and quantity that provides players with a wide variety of amazing video games, making the service a must-have for fans of any genre.

Since its parent company acquired Activision just last year, Call of Duty enthusiasts have been waiting for some titles by the publisher to make their way onto Game Pass.

However, even with the announcement that brings a total of eight video games to Game Pass subscribers, Xbox managed to disappoint the aforementioned fans, as once again, there’s not a single Activision title that’s being offered.

The Eight Latest Offerings by Xbox Game Pass

Xbox took to its official website to announce Wave 2 of its Game Pass subscription for the end of January and the beginning of February. The list features some heavy hitters, like the upcoming remake Persona 3 Reload, and considering how it’s going to be available on the service at launch, that should’ve been more than enough reason for fans to be excited.

Joining P-Studio’s title are numerous other great additions, including Palworld and F1 23, but it seems like even a whopping eight games were not enough to satisfy everyone.

One of those eight titles has already become available on Xbox Game Pass starting today, which is a “story-driven, first-person psychological-thriller” called Those Who Remain, which should be exciting for fans of the horror genre.

The next two games are not too far either, as on January 18, Turnip Boy Robs a Bank launches worldwide and will be available on the service on day one. Along with that, racing and Formula 1 enthusiasts also have something to look forward to in the form of F1 23.

Just a day after that comes Palworld, which is a Pokémon-esque title in which players can catch more than 100 creatures in a “mysterious land.” Yet another title that is going to be available at launch on Xbox Game Pass is Go Mecha Ball, which is being added to the subscription on January 25. Fans of the roguelite genre should also be excited to know that top-down arena shooter Brotato joins the service on January 30.

Aside from the aforementioned Persona title that will be on Xbox Game Pass at launch on February 2, the subscription is also bringing Anuchard to its subscribers on February 6. The wide range of genres that Wave 2 consists of is reason enough to be content with the announcement, but fans of a particular studio do not seem to be on board.

Activision Fans Are Disappointed About the Absence of Call of Duty Titles

Even with the addition of eight titles to its Game Pass service, it seems like Xbox has been unable to please plenty of Activision fans who had been looking forward to Call of Duty games on the subscription.

The official Xbox Game Pass X account shared the same list with its audience on the platform, and numerous players expressed their disappointment with the Wave 2 announcement.

Another user stated that none of the announced games seem exciting, and they would rather want Activision’s iconic shooter titles instead.

Activision fans were not the only ones who found the list underwhelming, as others also brought up interesting points.

Xbox just cannot seem to catch a break.
